Reports show students miss 51 million hours of school due to oral health problems every year. This is why February is National Children's Dental Health month. We are encouraging parents to teach their children to brush their teeth for 2 minutes, twice a day. We suggest brushing your teeth with your child to help reinforce the importance of tooth brushing, after all they imitate everything you do! It is also important to teach them how to properly floss their teeth. Flossing is often overlooked, but is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth. Regular dental check ups are also important. Your child should have their teeth cleaned by a professional hygienist twice a year. Diet is an integral part of dental health care too.
